Pennypack on the Delaware

(maps by Google Maps)

Tom's Driving Directions from Center City and West Philly
Take 676 East (aka the Vine Street expressway) to I-95 North. You can easily get on 676 East from the 30th street station area. Then follow the I-95 North directions below.

Tom's Driving Directions from I-95 North
Coming from I-95N the Cottman Ave. Exit 30 becomes Cottman ave and heads west. Turn right at State Road, which is the first stoplight. Take State road past the next stoplight. Look for a blue sign on the right that says "Riverview Homes, Adult Services". Turn right onto this road. There are no street signs for this road and it does not show up on google maps. It is immediately before Rhawn street. Follow this road, past the prison on the left, all the way around through Pennypack Park until you get to the soccer fields on the very end.

Tom's Driving Directions from I-95 South
Coming from I-95S take Exit 30 and turn right onto Bleigh Ave at the bottom of the ramp. Turn right at State Road in about two blocks. Once on State Road, look for a blue sign on the right that says "Riverview Homes, Adult Services". Turn right onto this road. There are no street signs for this road and it does not show up on google maps. It is immediately before Rhawn street. Follow this road, past the prison on the left, all the way around through Pennypack Park until you get to the soccer fields on the very end.

Address
There is no address for the fields since they are not on an officially recognized road, but this address is really close to where you are trying to go: 7800 State Road, Philadelphia, PA 19136

One suggestion is to take the Market-Frankford (blue line) all the way to Frankford station. Then take the 84 bus from there. Get off when at the intersection of Rhawn and State road, near Holmesburg Junction Station. This right by the park entrance, and you can talk the bike path all the way down to the park (follow the red line in the satellite photo above). It's probably a ten minute walk down the bike path to get to the soccer fields. Here is a map of the route..

Alternatively, the R7 line goes to the Holmesburg Junction Station. The R7 is accessible through the 30th street station, suburban station, and market east station, among others. See the R7 schedule for details.

Also, I think you can bring your bike on the trains, so if you do that then you can just bike the rest of the way to the fields.
