We all know several ref's suck in Primera (Mark is one of the few exceptions). I would guess the problem is even worse in Segunda/Tercera.
The question is: why they are so bad? Do they even care about the league or they just want to show up and collect their fees?
Today one ref finished the game with one minute remaining to play! I know because I could not play and I was keeping track of time. If a ref can't get the time right, what else he can do correctly? |

Another thing the refs missed:
A suspended player being at the fields. |

I ref serious travel games and get paid less money then the refs in this league. Since they NEVER RUN(what refs are suppose to do), maybe they should at least clean up trash after the game that teams leave so they do something during the games. Their are a VERY few good refs in this league and sadly we haven't had Mark ref any of our games this season. |

my team took a 1-1 draw this weekend.. the other teams only goal came from a pk that was taken by a player who was wearing a jersey with a duplicate number of another player on his team and was only wearing ankle guards and the ref who awarded the pk even took notice the player wasnt wearing shin guards and let him proceed to play.. i mean seriously. how hard is it to enforce simple rules - all players MUST wear shin guards - all teams must have players wearing color matching shirts/jersey that must be numbered. |

Yeah, good point. Several ref's forget that EVERY single rule matters. |

As a Player who played in the league for three years AND a qualified referee, it is always difficult. Being back in the UK now and Refereeing locally again, I now appreciate that there were two officials at our games. However Mark(as the head Ref) has a tough job as do the rest of the guys. Yes I am sure some do it for the cash but I know that there are others out there that do it for the love of the game. You guys should come and play in Blighty and see just the difference it makes with just one official on the field.... it is hard! I am sure rules may be missed on occasion, but there is no excuse for lack of Kit. i visually check every player before each game when I talk to the teams, anything remiss, jewelry, missing kit is addressed there and then. Maybe Mark would like to instigate this, but to do so the teams need to be receptive to this, and when most teams only turn up 2 minutes before kickoff this is really hard.
Enjoy the game!
