You know your league is a joke when you drive aroumd and see little children playing soccer but we cant. So frustrated |

Its nothing new man. The League cancels games because the "weather man" says its going to rain. Ironically, it never ends up raining. I do not know how long it will take the league to learn that the weather people are wrong over 50% of the time. |

I thought this was more of an issue with the city and the fields/park closing and not the league wanting to keep the players dry. |

We didn't play because of rainfall on Thursday and Friday.
If it didn't rain all week, and we got some rain on Saturday, we would have been out there playing.
But the fields took a beating on Thursday and Friday.
It's pretty simple. |

Keep in mind that we are granted a permit for these fields. On that permit it states that we are to use good judgement about whether conditions are so bad that playing on the fields would cause damage. If the fields are shit and we play on them and screw them up we could lose our permits for good. The end of this league as we know it forever. |

We didnt play because it would
A) Harm the fields B) Harm players C) Not be a field that was conducive to playing quality soccer
But you are right, its terrible that now the games will be played on better fields (Parkwood) in nice conditions on a Sunday later in the season... |
|

well that is not conducive to me being as i am my teams goalie and wont be playing because we are supposed to be playing on saturdays. which is why most people joined the league and plan to do things with our families and kkids on sundays. what should happen is the league should just give teams money off for the teams games for the spring season instead of makin us play on sundays. also rain on wed and thurs so im guessing itll be another cancelled weekend |
|
|
All great ideas...
Maybe instead of refunding money for rain out games we could purchase a weather control machine... |
|
|
or save the money and build a big Casa Sports Complex with a stadium with 60,000 capacity. |

i saw the fields on sat... they had 8x10 puddles in random spots across almost all the fields... just because u saw kids playin soccer on a field we dont use doesnt mean the field we do use was in any shape to be used.. everyone complains when our games get canceled but do u think the same people would complain if we did play and players starting going down with injuries related to how poor the condition of the fields were and how that alone caused a player to suffer an injury. one he got while playing on a team, for fun, without insurance on his day off? its not like all it did was just pop up a shower or 2. the area got hit with almost 3inches of rain in a 24hr period.. this league isnt as competitive as u and others try to make it out to be.. in the end players mostly want to have fun playing the game they love not dig thru 2in of mud on a sat afternoon just cause a select few cant play on sundays.. |

^^ That message above is exactly why your team will continue to play at Pennypacker every year and never get a chance again to play on a good field unless its a rain make up |
