I am looking at the 2nd division. There are now 12 teams? I feel 2 or 3 werent even in the league last year. It does not make any sense that a new team is already in the 2nd division. Personally, our team should be in the first division but we are not. Every team should have to work from the bottom up like we have done. It is unfair for everyone and any team who isnt in there preferred divison. I just think this is wrong and is gong to cause this league to become unorganized if you make random exceptions. My main point is every new team should start in the bottom no matter how good they are. Just like real soccer, you need to move up every season. You arent just put with the best.

Actually, it's very fair. Here's why.

- Your team, Quaker City, requested Segunda, and that's what you got.

- Every team got the division their captain requested, save for three Segunda teams who requested Primera. Nobody moved up to Primera this season outside of earned promotion. Otherwise, every single team. That will probably never happen again because the stars only align so often, but we got lucky and had the foresight to find out every team's preference in advance, which we hadn't done in the past.

- Expansion makes things unique. We expanded because we didn't want to turn away teams like we had to last year. Expansion can't be limitless, but going to 12-team divisions was something we felt we could logistically handle. Every team in the lower divisions is now guaranteed 11 instead of 10 games, but we were able to maintain the total length of the season at 13 weeks, which means it doesn't cause more problems with the approach of winter.

- We kept Primera at 10 teams because it's better for competition to expand the lowest division rather than the highest. If we grow to 48 teams in the future, I suspect Primera would probably grow to 12 teams.

- This is a young league. It started four years ago. It's grown very fast. Things change. We'll be laying out more detail on the changes in the coming days. There's simply been so much work to do in order to pull this (and other things) off that it's left too few hours in the day. Keep an eye out for more news. A lot's going on.

Dan - In general what you say is correct, but with expansion you might as well give teams an option; having a middle of the back bottom division team move up makes little sense. If a team comes in the league with a decent soccer resume why not put them in the best fit? Could you imagine if the Allstars/Deportivo rejoined the league and entered in Abierto? That situation wouldn't be fun for anyone involved.

Trust me, if a team is over talented or under talented for their respective division that will be fixed by the end of the fall.

Best of luck in Segunda.

My team(FC Bucks) is made up of 9+ players that played on a Segunda team last season and I believe we are the only new team to the league in Segunda.
