Loved playing at Philly Soccer today, is was nice to actually see how soccer is meant to be played, on grass.

Totally agree! Why can't we play at Philadelphia Soccer Club every week?

Because field usage costs about twice as much as Pennypack.
Moving there full-time would require a substantial increase in team fees that the majority of the league might not support.

The fields are also awfully short.
(Admittedly, that's never factored into discussions about moving there, but it did prompt some conversation Saturday.)

In addition to the expense (and further distance from the city), we also can't get them every week. They are predominantly (almost exclusively) for youth soccer and are private fields. Having 40 adult teams playing on them on a regular basis would cause a lot of wear and tear that they wouldn't have otherwise. We can get them on occasion but it's not a feasible "home" for the league.

I know the long term, possibly unrealistic goal is that CASA gets their own fields. Are any of the league fees going to an account to start to build towards that goal?

(By the time we raise enough money ill be in a seniors league)

We have a little cash on hand that we've accumulated over the last few years, but nothing even close to approaching what would be required for new fields. We charge only as much as it takes to run the league, with a little left over in case there are some unexpected expenses (e.g. like renting from PSC). We are however, working with the city to embark on a program to make a series of improvements to our fields every off-season, but as you would expect with city hall, there are a lot of competing interests and red-tape, and it's never as easy as it seems. We'll keep at it though!
