I'm in favor of running a table format all year long, which would make EVERY game count and would make the season matter. Div's 1 and 2 would play on one table with the latter divisions on another. We could have a supplemental 'fa cup' style tournament running during the course of the year to replace the playoffs with these games being played possibly on every third Wednesday night. Too many teams coast through the reg season before beefing up their squads for the playoffs or teams simply do not take the season seriously enough. Running a straight table format would change that. Also, every world class football league emphasizes their regular season. And in regard to promotion/relegation, that would be taken care of at the end of the year. If you're a competitive squad and you're stuck in the bottom 2, then the FA Cup format allows a chance for better competition. Additionally, teams would have to post a $500 deposit at the beginning of the year which they would stand to lose if they dropped out of the league prior to the end of the year.
As this is merely a proposal, it would be cool to see what others around the league think. Thanks, Brion J. Shreffler AC Milan
